OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves the introduction of a new hydraulic system / power steering fluid.

DISCUSSION:
The 2005 Grand Cherokee requires the use of a new hydraulic system / power steering fluid. The new fluid is specially formulated to ensure long life of
the vehicle hydraulic and power steering system.
The new fluid part number and name is 05142893AA - Hydraulic System / Power Steering Fluid (MS-10838). To address the European Union market
requirements the part number is 05142893EA.
NOTE:
Use only approved hydraulic system / power steering fluid (MS-10838) when servicing the 2005 Grand Cherokee power steering / hydraulic system.
DO NOT use automatic transmission fluid (ATF) or other types of power steering fluids when servicing or topping-off the 2005 Grand Cherokee power
steering / hydraulic system. A white service label has been affixed to the 2005 Grand Cherokee power steering reservoir that contains similar
instructions.
Damage to the power steering / hydraulic system can occur if the wrong hydraulic / power steering fluid is used.
