Inspect the position of the ORVR system vent hose (Figure 2).

If the vent hose is kinked and bent downward and:

If the vehicle has been driven LESS than 20 miles, reposition the vent hose so that it is not kinked. Ensure that the vent hose is located in
the clip and that it is approximately vertical. Secure the vent hose to the metal fuel filler vent tube with the tie strap (Figure 3), then
continue with Section C - Inspect Fuel Filler inlet check Valve.

If the vehicle has been driven MORE than 20 miles, the canister assembly must be replaced. Continue with Section B - Replace Vapor
Canister Assembly.

If the vent hose is properly routed (secured in clip and vertical), secure the vent hose to the metal fuel filler vent tube with the tie strap (Figure
3), and then continue with Section C - Inspect Fuel Filler Inlet Check Valve.
B. Replace Vapor Canister Assembly
NOTE:
Only vapor canister assemblies that have a misrouted vent hose on vehicles that have been driven more than 20 miles, as determined by the
inspection in Section A, require replacement. Very few vehicles are expected to require vapor canister assembly replacement.

Disconnect the leak detection pump electrical connector and then disconnect the harness clips from the canister support bracket.
