SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Some vehicles may exhibit a squeak or creak coming from the area of the headlights, when the steering wheel is turned.
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
This bulletin involves removing the front bumper fascia and replacing a plastic fastener with a 6 mm bolt.
1.
Remove the front bumper fascia following the procedure outlined in the service manual.
CAUTION:
WHEN REMOVING THE HEADLIGHTS, USE CARE NOT TO DAMAGE THE RETAINING CLIPS.
2.
Inspect the area below the headlight for the presence of a plastic fastener (see illustration).
3.
Remove the fastener and install a 6 X 30 mm bolt, lockwasher and nut. Torque the bolt to 120 inch lbs.
4.
Install the bumper fascia and road test to verify the repair.
