Hydraulic Control Assembly - Antilock Brakes: Service and Repair
1.
Disconnect battery ground cable.
2.
Disconnect pedal travel sensor.
3.
Remove air cleaner and hoses.
4.
Remove windshield washer reservoir.
5.
Drain master cylinder reservoir into a suitable container.
6.
Disconnect ABS harness.
7.
Remove combination valve as outlined under "Combination Valve, Replace."
8.
Remove HCU attaching nuts.
9.
Mark HCU hydraulic lines for assembly reference.
10.
Disconnect hydraulic lines and hoses at HCU.
11.
Remove HCU.
12.
Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Torque HCU assembly nuts to 102 inch lbs. and line fittings to 106 inch lbs.
b. Torque line fittings on combination valve to 185 inch lbs.
c. Bleed brakes and check for leaks.
