Grand Cherokee 4WD L6-242 4.0L VIN S MFI (1993)
Camshaft: Service and Repair
1. Disconnect battery ground cable and drain cooling system.
2. Remove radiator and if equipped with A/C, the condenser.
3. Remove fuel pump, distributor and ignition wires.
4. Remove rocker arms, pushrods and valve lifters.
5. Remove timing case cover, then the timing chain and sprocket.
6. Carefully slide camshaft out of cylinder block.
7. Reverse procedure to install. Tighten camshaft sprocket bolt to specifications.
