Liftgate Will Not Lock/Will Not Open
NOTE:

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Some of the listed models may exhibit one or both of the following conditions:
A.
The liftgate power lock system will not lock the liftgate; if this condition exists, refer to the Liftgate Latch Adjustment Procedure which will
require the following:
-Liftgate handle-to-latch rod adjustment
-Liftgate striker inspection and possible replacement
-Electric liftgate actuator inspection and possible replacement
B.
Pulling up on the latch handle will not release the latch mechanism and the liftgate cannot be opened; if this condition exists, refer to the Liftgate
Handle Replacement Procedure which will require the following:
-Liftgate handle assembly replacement
-Liftgate handle-to-latch rod adjustment
-Liftgate striker inspection and possible replacement
-Electric liftgate actuator inspection and possible replacement
PARTS REQUIRED:
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
This repair procedure involves performing one or both of the following procedures:
A.
Adjusting the liftgate latch rod and replacing the liftgate striker, if necessary.
B.
Replacing the liftgate handle assembly and/or replacing the striker, if necessary.
Liftgate Latch Adjustment Procedure
1.
Remove the liftgate interior trim as described in the Service Manual No. 81-370-2147.
