Heater A/C Blower Noise

REFER TO THIS BULLETIN WHEN THESE SYMPTOMS ARE ENCOUNTERED. THIS BULLETIN ADDS PARTS TO SEAL ADDITIONAL
OPENINGS IN THE COWL AREA.
MODELS:
1993 - 1995 (ZJ) Grand Cherokee/Grand Wagoneer
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Scraping or ticking noise caused by the heater blower fan contacting leaves or debris which can enter the heater housing through open holes in the cowl
area. This condition can also lead to a foul odor if decaying organic material is present in the housing.
DIAGNOSIS:
Operate the blower. If the noise is present, perform the repair procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
This bulletin involves installing a cover and two plugs into openings in the cowl.
1.
Remove the blower fan using the procedures outlined in the appropriate Service Manual. Clean any foreign material from the housing and make
sure that the condensate drain is clear.
2.
Install the blower fan.
3.
Remove the windshield wiper arms.
4.
Remove the Cowl Cover.
5.
Remove the wiper linkage assembly.
6.
Install the plastic cover, P/N 4798156, into the opening as shown below.
