Front Door Panel: Service and Repair
Front Door Trim Panel - Removal
REMOVAL
1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
2. Remove the switch module (4) from the front door trim panel. See: Locks/Power Locks/Power Door Lock Switch/Service and Repair/Power Lock
Switch - Removal.
3. Remove the three screws (2) that secure the front door trim panel (1) to the door.
4. Using a trim stick C-4829A or equivalent, carefully pull the front door trim panel away from the door far enough to disengage the seven plastic
door trim panel retention clips (3) from the door and discard the clips.
5. Lift the rear of the panel upward slightly to disengage the interior door latch lock link and knob from the rear of the door panel and the inner belt
seal.
6. Lower the trim panel and separate the trim panel mirror flag from the clip.
7. Discard the mirror flag clip.
8. Position the front door trim panel far enough away from the door to access the door wire harness connectors (1) and the interior door handle
actuator rod (3).
9. Disconnect the interior door handle actuator rod from the interior door handle (4).
10. Disconnect the door wire harness.
