Radiator Cooling Fan Motor: Description and Operation
This vehicle uses a hybrid cooling fan system. This system consists of a thermal viscous fan drive and an electric cooling fan module.
Cooling Module With Electric Fan - 4.0L/4.7L
On all 4.7L engines, an electrical cooling fan located in the fan shroud aids in low speed cooling. It is designed to augment the viscous fan, however, it
does not replace the viscous fan.
On all 4.0L engines, an electric fan is standard and the viscous fan is added on trailer tow packages only.
