When the lock button on the transmitter is pressed, all doors will lock, illuminated entry will be turned off, (providing all doors are closed) and the
vehicle theft security system (if equipped) will be armed. When the unlock button is pressed one time, the left front door will unlock, the
illuminated entry will turn on the interior courtesy lamps, the vehicle theft security system (if equipped) will be disarmed. When the button is
pressed a second time the other four doors will unlock.
The passenger door module (PDM) contains the RKE receiver. When the PDM receives a valid signal from the RKE transmitter, it will send a
signal on the CCD bus to lock or unlock the doors. The RKE transmitter uses radio frequency signals to communicate with the RKE receiver.

Under normal operation, the DRB will display one of only two error messages:
- User-Requested WARM Boot or User-Requested COLD Boot
If the DRB should display any other error message record the entire display and call the MDS Hotline. This is a sample of such an error message

DRBIII Does Not Power Up
DRBIII DOES NOT POWER UP
If the LED's do not light or no sound is emitted at start up, check for loose cable connections or a bad cable. Check the vehicle battery voltage
(data link connector cavity 16). A minimum of 11 volts is required to adequately power the DRB.
If all connections are proper between the DRB and the vehicle or other devices, and the vehicle battery is fully charged, an inoperative DRB may
be the result of faulty cable or vehicle wiring.

Introduction
SYSTEM OPERATION
Audio System
A Body Control Module (BCM) is used on this model to control and integrate many of the electronic functions and features included on the
vehicle. The BCM contains a central processing unit and interfaces with other modules in the vehicle on the Chrysler Collision Detection (CCD)
data bus network.
The CCD data bus network allows the sharing of sensor information. This helps to reduce wire harness complexity, reduce internal controller
hardware, and reduce component sensor current loads. At the same time, this system provides increased reliability, enhanced diagnostics, and
allows the addition of many new feature capabilities.
One of the functions and features that the BCM supports and controls, is the remote radio switches on vehicles so equipped. The BCM receives
hard-wired resistor multiplexed inputs from the remote radio switches. The programming in the BCM allows it to process those inputs and send the
proper messages to the radio over the CCD data bus to control the radio volume, station seek, and preset station advance functions.
