Body Control Module: Service and Repair
REMOVAL
Before replacing the Body Control Module (BCM), use a DRB scan tool to determine the current settings for the BCM programmable features. These
settings should be duplicated in the replacement BCM using the DRB scan tool, before returning the vehicle to service.

WHEEL, STEERING COLUMN, OR INSTRUMENT PANEL COMPONENT DIAGNOSIS OR SERVICE. FAILURE TO TAKE THE
PROPER PRECAUTIONS COULD RESULT IN ACCIDENTAL AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT AND POSSIBLE PERSONAL INJURY.
1. Remove the steering column opening coven knee blocker from the instrument panel. See Steering and Suspension/Steering/Steering Column
Cover/Steering Column Opening Cover and Knee Blocker procedures.
Body Control Module Remove/Install
2. Remove the four screws located below the outboard switch pod that secure the Body Control Module (BCM) to the instrument panel armature.
3. Move the BCM towards the steering column far enough to access the three wire harness connectors.
4. Unplug the wire harness connectors from the BCM.
5. Remove the BCM from the instrument panel.
6. Reverse the removal procedures to install. Tighten the mounting screws to 2.2 N.m (20 in. lbs.).
NOTE: If a new Body Control Module is installed, the programmable features must be enabled and/or disabled to the customer's preferred
settings. Use a DRB scan tool and the proper Diagnostic Procedures
