display with a vehicle outline and Two Buttons. The VIC receives input from the CCD bus and hard-wired circuits. In response to these inputs the
VIC displays information in the form of alphanumeric, graphical icon, and chime alert request to the Body Control Module (BCM). In the normal
mode the VIC will display icons and alphanumeric messages in a choice of five different languages. The customer preference display functions are
set in the setup mode using the "SET" and "SELECT" buttons. There are four types of VIC warnings and messages, monitor hard wired circuits,
monitored CCD bus messages, transfer case shifter position, and chime requests. The VIC messages are displayed in the order of their priority.
Normal mode for the VIC is defined as ignition on, the service reminder not showing, and the time date set.

The VIC clock is synchronized by a CCD bus message from the radio to display the same time (hours and minutes) as the Radio clock.  IF the
voltage is removed from the VIC, the time and date start flashing and default to 12:00am Sun Jan 1, 12 hour mode or 0:00 Sun 1 Jan, 24 hour
mode. No other messages will be displayed until the time and date are set. Use the "SET" and "SELECT" buttons to set the time and date, change
the language, or service reminder.

All VIC messages including DTC's are active codes and will be erased as soon as the condition is corrected. The Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)
are identified by an asterisk (*) and are addressable via the DRB.

Center Buttons and Functions

VEHICLE INFORMATION CENTER BUTTONS AND FUNCTIONS

SET

After the ignition has been turned on and the service reminder has been displayed, pressing the SET button for at least two seconds will initiate the
time/date setting mode. Pressing SELECT momentarily and then holding SET for two or more seconds will reset the service reminder message.

Pressing SET while turning on the ignition will place the VIC in the set up mode that contains all the user changeable setting.

SELECT

If the time/date has been set, pressing the SELECT and SET simultaneously while turning the ignition on will prompt the VIC to display the
module version for five seconds or until the SET or SELECT button is pressed.

VERSION

Displays the module version level. Press the SET and SELECT button while turning the ignition to display the module version.

Customer Preference Messages

VEHICLE INFORMATION CENTER CUSTOMER PREFERENCE MESSAGES

12 AND 24 HOUR MODE:

Selects the 12 hour or 24 hour mode for displaying the time. Place the VIC in setup mode to select the hour mode 12 HOUR CLOCK MODE
(hours 1-12, AM & PM) or 24 HOUR CLOCK MODE (hours 0-23). If a Chrysler radio is connected to the CCD Bus, the VIC will suppress the
hour and minute set function.

LANGUAGE

Determines which language the VIC will display messages in, English, French, German, Spanish, or Italian. Place the VIC in setup mode to
change the language.

PERFORM SERVICE

The service interval are set in the VIC setup mode to "MILE TO SERVICE", from 2000 to 7500 miles in 500 mile increments, or "KM TO
SERVICE", from 3000 and 12000 kilometers in 1000 kilometer increments. The VIC monitors a CCD bus message, from the BCM, to receive the
distance traveled and US/METRIC display type. The "PERFORM SERVICE" message will be displayed if the Miles or Kilometers to service is
equal to zero. The message will display for a maximum of 20 times and reset if the condition is corrected.

This message shows the distance to service in miles. The display ranges from a preset value to zero miles.

_____ KM TO SERVICE:

This message shows the distance to service in kilometers. The display ranges from a preset value to zero kilometers.

Monitored (Hard Wired) Circuits

THE VEHICLE INFORMATION CENTER MONITORED (HARD WIRED CIRCUITS)

Coolant Level Low *

The VIC monitors cavity #1 of the 20-way connector (the coolant level switch sense circuit) for a shorted condition. The message is displayed and
the radiator icon (yellow) turned or en a shorted condition is detected. The messages will be displayed a maximum of 20 times and reset if the
condition is corrected. A yellow icon shows the radiator location of vehicle outline.
