FLASH: Mill Illumination P0430 - Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 2) Or **P0420 - Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold
(Bank 1)**
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves selectively erasing and reprogramming the Powertrain Control Module (PCM).

NOTE:
This bulletin applies to vehicles built with a 5.7L engine (sales code EZB) built before January 8, 2008 (0108XXMDH).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Some vehicle's may experience MIL illumination for P0430 - Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 2) or **P0420 - Catalyst System
Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1 )** Noise on the 2/2 **or 1/2** 02 sensor signal wire may cause the DTC to set incorrectly.
The new software will use an electronic filter to ignore the noise on the 2/2 **or 1/2** 02 sensor signal.
DIAGNOSIS:
Verify there are no gross leaks in the exhaust system. Using a Scan Tool (StarSCAN(R)) with the appropriate Diagnostic Procedures available in
TechCONNECT, verify all engine systems are functioning as designed. If DTC's are present other then the one listed above record them on the repair
order and repair as necessary before proceeding further with this bulletin.
If no other DTC's are present and no exhaust leak exists, perform the Repair Procedure.
