Rattle Sound/Vibration During Aggressive Acceleration
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves installing spacer washer(s) under the head of the transmission right side mounting bolt.

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
During aggressive acceleration a rattle sound/vibration may be heard/felt coming from the right front side floor area.
DIAGNOSIS:
Raise the vehicle on an appropriate hoist. Inspect for a witness mark on the left side of the exhaust pipe just above right side transmission mount to
crossmember bolt. If there is less than 10 mm of clearance between the tip of the bolt and the exhaust pipe perform the Repair Procedure.
PARTS REQUIRED:
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1.
With the vehicle on an appropriate hoist, remove the right side transmission mount to crossmember bolt.
2.
Install 5/16 washer(s) approximately 3-4 mm total thickness between the head of the bolt and the transmission crossmember.
3.
Install the bolt and torque it to 54 Nm (40 ft. lbs.).
4.
Measure the clearance between the tip of the bolt and exhaust pipe. If necessary adjust the thickness of the washers to obtain a minimum of 10 mm
(3/8 in.) clearance.
5.
Lower the vehicle.
