SAFETY RECALL - ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM AND FRONT BRAKE HOSES
Dear Chrysler Corporation Vehicle Owner:
This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
Chrysler Corporation has determined that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in the and-lock brake system (ABS) of some 1989 and
1990 model Jeep Cherokee and Wagoneer vehicles. The following two conditions could occur, and in certain circumstances can result in a vehicle crash
without prior warning:

The hydraulic system could become plugged due to contaminated brake fluid. If this occurs, an increase in stopping distance or reduced
braking control could result.

A snap ring in the brake master cylinder boost valve could fail due to corrosion. If this happens, the brakes could "drag" after the brake pedal
is released.
Your Jeep Cherokee or Wagoneer, whose Vehicle Identification Number is shown on the enclosed form, is one of the affected vehicles. For this reason
we ask that you arrange for service to correct the conditions without delay. The service and required parts as described in this letter will be provided free
of charge.
During the repair, your dealer will replace the low pressure hose and rebuild the actuator assembly in the vehicle's ABS system. While performing this
service, the dealer will also inspect the front brake hose routing and ensure that there is proper clearance between the hoses and the front tires.
The work will take about three hours to complete. However, additional time may be required depending on how dealer appointments are scheduled and
processed. To obtain this free service:

Contact your dealer as soon as possible to schedule an appointment.

Take the enclosed Owner, Recall Notification Form with you at the time of your appointment and give it to your dealer. The form shows the
identification number for the vehicle which requires service.
If you have any problem obtaining the needed repair, please contact the Chrysler Zone Service Office in "your area. (it is listed under "Service
Assistance" in your Operator's Manual.) A Zone representative will arrange for prompt servicing of your vehicle.
We regret any inconvenience which this action may cause you. However, we believe that you understand our concern for motor vehicle safety and for
your continued satisfaction with our products. If your dealer fails or is unable to remedy this defect without charge within a reasonable time, you may
