Fuel Pump Relay: Service and Repair
REMOVAL
1.
Disconnect the negative battery cable, and remove the fuel tank filler cap.
2.
Disconnect the fuel lines from the fuel pump. Wrap a shop towel around the fuel lines to catch spillage.
3.
Remove the fuel pump mounting bolts and remove the pump.
4.
Remove and discard the old gasket, and clean the gasket surface on the engine block.
INSTALLATION
1.
Place a new fuel pump gasket on the engine block.
2.
Install the pump onto the block, install the mounting bolts and torque to 18 Nm (13 lb-ft).
3.
Install the fuel lines and torque to 24.5 Nm (18 lb-ft).
4.
Connect the negative battery cable, and reinstall the filler cap.
5.
START the engine and check for leaks.
