Sunroof / Moonroof Module: Description and Operation
Operation

OPERATION

This vehicle is available with the Full Open Retractable Roof (FORR) option. Marketed as Sky Slider(TM), the unit is made of reinforced acrylic cloth,
similar to a convertible top. The FORR system receives battery feed through the "sunroof" relay and a 25 amp mini fuse located in the Totally Integrated
Power Module (TIPM). The FORR system power is supplied when the ignition switch is in the RUN and ACCESSORY positions. The sunroof will
operate normally with the key in any position while the Accessory Delay system is active.

The FORR utilizes a single Electronic Control Unit (ECU) (sometimes referred to as the Power Top Control Module) to control the movement of the
power top. The ECU sends a reference voltage to and receives inputs back from the power top switch via a hardwired connection. The ECU responds to
the switch input by controlling one or both of the power top motors via a hardwired connection.

The ECU communicates via the Controller Area Network (CAN) data bus circuit and can be diagnosed and receive software updates with the use of a
diagnostic scan tool. The ECU continually monitors ambient temperature and vehicle speed inputs from the instrument cluster, sometimes referred to as
the Cab Compartment Node (CCN). The ECU also receives vehicle configuration data from the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) to ensure
proper operation related to geographical location (i.e. North American markets versus Export markets).
