SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Some customers may experience a rattling sound from the engine compartment after engine warm up. This sound may become more apparent by turning
the steering wheel or turning on the A/C. This sound may be due to the serpentine belt tensioner contacting it's stop due to a long serpentine drive belt.
DIAGNOSIS:
Start engine and allow to idle for 5 minutes to bring engine accessory drive components to operating temperature. Set HVAC to windshield defrost
mode. Set temperature to coldest setting, turn on A/C. Move steering wheel from stop to stop holding at each stop position for one second.
If a rattling sound is evident, proceed with the Repair Procedure.
REPAIR PROCEDURE -
