When the DRBIII reboots to the MAIN MENU, continue to Step 18.

18.

With the ignition switch in the "RUN" position, determine the original part number of the TCM currently in the vehicle by performing the
following steps:

a.

Select "DRBIII Stand Alone" at the main screen.

b.

Then select "1998 - 2007 Diagnostics"

c.

Then select "All (Except Below)".

d.

Then select "Powertrain".

e.

Then select "Transmission Module".

f.

Record the "TCM Part Number" on the repair order for later reference.

Unplug the DRBIII unit from the vehicle.

20.

Connect the DRBIII to TechCONNECT. Open TechTOOLS and verify that the "DRBIII(R) Status: Connected" message is in the upper right
corner of the TechTOOLS screen.

Enter the "TCM Part Number" recorded in Step 18f in the "Parts Criteria" area and select "Show Updates". TechTOOLS will populate the
appropriate flash file.

If the part number of the latest flash file is the same as the part number recorded in Step 18(f), continue with Step 31.

Select the flash file.

24.

Select the "DRBIII" radio button which is next to the "DOWNLOAD/UPDATE" button.

Select the "Download/Update" button.

26.

Monitor the "Flash Download/Update Progress" window on the TechCONNECT and follow the instructions on TechCONNECT. When the flash
process is complete, continue to Step # 27.

27.

Disconnect the DRBIII from TechCONNECT.

28.

Connect the DRBIII to the vehicle.

29.

Download the PCM flash file from the DRBIII to the vehicle. Using the DRBIII select "VEHICLE FLASH".

30.

Follow the directions on the DRBIII screen. When the PCM flash process is complete, continue to Step 31.

31.

Disconnect the DRBIII from the vehicle.

32.

Disconnect negative battery terminal. Wait for 60 seconds. Reconnect the negative battery terminal to clear any Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)
that may have been generated during the reprogramming of the PCM and TCM.

33.

Reconnect the negative battery terminal.

34.

Perform the TCM Quicklearn procedure as follows:

a.

Connect the DRBIII to the vehicle.

b.

Select "Stand Alone".

c.

Select "1998  2007 Diagnostics".

d.

Select "All (Except Below)".

e.

Select "Trans & TCase".

f.

Select "Trans Module".
