THIS BULLETIN APPLIES TO VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH A 3.7L (EKG) ENGINE BUILT PRIOR TO APRIL 1, 2001.
DISCUSSION:
The oil in some engines may appear to have a red tint. The red tint is due to a fluorescent dye that was added to the oil during the manufacture of some
engines. The fluorescent dye is used to ensure a leak free engine at the completion of the manufacturing process. The dye does not affect the function of
the oil or the engine in any manner. The red tint will diminish with normal oil changes.
