Flip-Up Glass Hinge Cover Drips Water Into Cargo Compartment

This bulletin involves the replacement of both flip-up glass hinge covers.

THIS BULLETIN APPLIES TO VEHICLES BUILT BEFORE JULY 21, 2001 (MDH O721XX).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
A customer may complain of water dripping into the cargo compartment when the rear flip-up glass is raised. This condition may be caused by flip-up
glass hinge covers that trap water.
DIAGNOSIS:
If the customer complains of the above condition perform the Repair Procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
THIS REPAIR IS COMPATIBLE WITH DAIMLERCHRYSLER'S MOBILE SERVICE PROGRAM AND DOES NOT REQUIRE HOISTS OR
OTHER FULL SERVICE FACILITY SPECIAL EQUIPMENT.
1.
Carefully remove both left and right flip-up glass hinge covers. The covers snap over the hinge.
NOTE:
PROTECT THE FLIP-UP GLASS TO PREVENT POSSIBLE DAMAGE DURING HINGE COVER REMOVAL.
2.
Install the new right flip-up glass hinge cover, p/n 55360366AE.
3.
Install the new left flip-up glass hinge cover, p/n 55360367AE.
