Wedge the caliper away from the brake rotor (Figure 12). Use a pry bar to break the gasket adhesive seals, if necessary.

Pull the caliper away from the brake rotor by slowly sliding the caliper assembly out and away. Secure the caliper to the suspension with a wire.
Do not allow the brake hose to support the weight of the caliper.

Remove the outboard brake shoe assembly (Figure 13).

Remove the retainers that secure the brake rotor to the hub studs.
