Fuel Pressure Regulator: Service and Repair
REMOVAL
Fuel Pressure Regulator
1.
Remove the throttle body from the engine. See: Throttle Body/Service and Repair
2.
Remove the fuel pressure regulator mounting screws.
NOTE: Hold the fuel pressure regulator housing against the throttle body housing while removing the fuel pressure regulator mounting screws.
This will prevent the fuel pressure regulator housing from springing off as it is removed.
3.
Remove the pressure regulator housing, spring and seats, diaphragm, and pivot. Clean the housing thoroughly to remove any foreign material.
INSTALLATION
Fuel Pressure Regulator
1.
Align the pressure regulator diaphragm vent hole with the vent holes in the throttle body and regulator housing.
2.
Make sure the pivot assembly is between the diaphragm and the throttle body housing.
3.
Install the spring and seats between the diaphragm and fuel pressure regulator housing, and install the mounting screws. Tighten the screws
securely.
4.
Install the assembled throttle body on the intake manifold. See: Throttle Body/Service and Repair
5.
START the engine and check for leaks.
6.
Perform fuel pressure adjustment. See: Adjustments
