Radiator Cooling Fan Motor: Testing and Inspection

1.

Remove cooling fan relay from relay connector.

2.

Turn ignition switch to "Run" position.

3.

Check continuity between terminal 5 of the relay connector and body ground connections on the fender panel back from the relay connector. If
continuity does not exist repair open.

If continuity exists, connect a jumper wire with a In-line 25 amp fuse between terminals 1 and 4 of the relay connector.

If fan motor operates proceed to Step 7, leaving jumper wire in place.

6.

If fan motor does not operate, repair fan relay fuse link, refer to, Cooling System/Cooling Fan Motor/Diagrams/Electrical.   

7.

Check for battery voltage at terminal 2 of fan relay connector, repair as necessary.

8.

Connect a jumper wire across the radiator temperature switch harness connector. If fan operates replace temperature switch.
