Install rubber hose supplied with the Pulse Damper Kit on the pulse damper. Push pulse damper onto fuel outlet tube until seated. Slide hose
clamps over rubber hose and install hose on the fuel pump outlet. Position hose clamps and tighten. Components should be positioned as
illustrated in Figure 1.
5.
Install a new O-ring seal, PN 53000575, on the fuel pump/sending unit. Verify that the rubber stopper is properly installed.
6.
Install the fuel pump/sending unit into the fuel tank.

NOTE:
Make certain that the rubber stopper is properly seated in the cup at the bottom of the fuel tank (Figure 2) when the fuel pump/sending unit
was installed. If it is not, fuel pump noise may still be present.

FUEL PUMP NOISE
Some 1987 Cherokee/Wagoneer models equipped with a 4.0L engine have fuel pumps that may produce an unusual amount of noise heard inside the
