Fuel Tank With Skid Plate (XJ)

Remove the skid plate, and fuel tank shield. Center a jack under the fuel tank, and remove the tank support strap nuts. Move the straps aside, and
lower the fuel tank on the jack.
INSTALLATION
1.
Raise the tank into position, on the jack. Connect the fuel fill hose and vent hose to the filler neck and tighten the clamps.

Wrap the tank straps around the tank, and over the studs. Install the tank strap nuts, and torque them to 11.3 Nm (8.3 lb-ft)

Remove the jack, and install the fuel tank shield, and skid plate. Reconnect the vent hose to the vent tube.
4.
Connect the fuel supply and return hoses to the tubes, and tighten the clamps securely. Connect the pump/sender wire connectors, and secure the
wire harness to the fuel tubes with tie straps.
5.
Lower the vehicle, fill the tank, and install the fuel cap. Connect the negative battery cable, START the engine and check for leaks.
