Locate the Crank Position Sensor (CPS) Connector (A). (Figure 1)

Remove the CPS Connector from the EEC Harness by cutting the two CPS wires close to the Connector. These wires should be violet w/white
tracer and white w/black tracer.

Tape the two cut wires onto the injector harness.

Remove the CPS lead from the retaining clip (F) which is mounted at the left rear corner of the cylinder head. (Figure 2)

Raise the vehicle using a lift.
8.
Locate the old CPS (C) on the transmission bellhousing. (Figure 2)
9.
Remove the CPS lead from the bellhousing retainer clip (G), remove the two CPS retaining bolts (B & D) and discard the CPS (C). (Figure 2)
10.
For vehicles with a MANUAL TRANSMISSION, install the new CPS and tighten the retaining bolts (B & D) to 16 ft.lbs. Proceed to Step
15.
11.
For vehicles with an AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, remove and discard the old CPS grommet (E) from the bellhousing. Install the new CPS
grommet onto the bellhousing. (Figure 2)
