Locate cavities D1 and C1 in the 32-way connector (U) and note their wire color code. Modify a large paper clip (W) and remove the white
w/black tracer wire from the D1 cavity. (Figure 10)

Insert the white wire labeled D1 from the CPS patch harness into the D1 cavity of connector (U). Remove the violet w/white tracer wire from the
C1 cavity. Insert the violet wire labeled C1 from the CPS harness into the C1 cavity of connector (U). (Figure 11)

Cut the terminal end off the old D1 and C1 wires to prevent future use. Tape the two cut wires (X) back to the EEC harness. (Figure 11)

If the end of the bare braided knock sensor drain wire (Y) is loose, tape it to the EEC harness to prevent contact with other components. (Figure
11)
