Thermostat: Service and Repair

1.

Drain coolant from radiator until level is below thermostat housing.

2.

Remove thermostat housing, gasket, then thermostat.

3.

Install new thermostat, ensuring the pellet which is encircled by a coil spring faces engine.

4.

Ensure thermostat is in recess groove and position thermostat in groove with arrow and air bleed hole on outer flange.

5.

Install new gasket, then thermostat housing.

6.

Torque to specifications. Fill coolant to proper level.
