SUBJECT:
Excessive Door Window Effort
MODELS:
1993 - 1995 (YJ) Wrangler
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Excessive effort may be required to roll the door windows up or down. Continued operation with this condition can lead to premature failure of the
window regulator.
DIAGNOSIS:
Operate the windows. If the effort required to open or close the windows is high, or if the window regulator is inoperative, perform the repair procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
This bulletin involves replacing the vent window assembly with a unit containing a revised window channel and inspecting the window regulator for
worn or damaged components.
1.
Remove the door trim panel and water shield.
2.
Lower the window to the down stop.
3.
Remove the screws attaching the vent window assembly to the door frame.
4.
Remove the lower adjusting screw.
5.
Detach three inches of the weather seal from the door frame. Lower the division channel and tilt it toward the rear of the door.
6.
Remove the assembly from the door.
7.
Install the new vent window assembly, P/N 55176280 or 55176281, in the door frame and position the channel on the window glass.
8.
Adjust the vent window as far forward as possible and tighten the adjustment screw and door frame attaching screws.
9.
Attach the weather seal to the door frame.
10.
Inspect the window regulator for signs of bent, damaged or worn components. Replace the regulator if required.
11.
Test the operation and adjustment of the window and adjust if required.
12.
Install the water shield and door trim panel.
