FOR 1990 VEHICLES ONLY: Using the provided seal washers, install the brake hoses to the calipers. Position the hose fitting such that the flat is
aligned with the tab on the caliper (Figure 7).

Position the provided splash shields in the wheel openings and secure them with the supplied fasteners (Figure 8).
NOTE:
Push the rear of the shield in behind the shock absorber bracket.

Position shield so the brake hose is in the center of the splash shield opening. Using the shield as a template, mark and center punch the two lower
shield hole locations on the frame (Figure 8).
NOTE:
Some 1988 and all 1989 and 1990 model year vehicles already have the lower splash shield holes in the right frame rail only.

Drill two pilot holes in the frame rail using a 1/8" (3 mm) drill bit (Figure 8).
16.
Enlarge the frame holes using a 9/32" (7 mm) drill bit.

Use primer, Mopar Part Number 4443636 or equivalent, to coat the edges of the drilled holes.
18.
Secure the bottom of both shields to the frame rails using the supplied fasteners (Figure 8).
19.
Inspect for brake hose-to-shield clearance on both sides. If any contact exists, cut away shield to provide clearance.
20.
Bleed the front brakes following the Service Manual Procedure and inspect for leaks.
21.
Install the front wheel and tire assemblies and torque wheel lug nuts to 75 ft-lbs (102 N.m).
