Door Switch: Description and Operation
DRIVER DOOR JAMB SWITCH
The driver door jamb switch is mounted to the driver side door hinge pillar. The switch closes a path to ground for the instrument cluster chime
warning circuitry through the key-in ignition switch and/or the headlamp switch when the driver door is opened, and opens the ground path when
the driver door is closed.
The driver door jamb switch cannot be repaired and, if faulty or damaged, it must be replaced.
