Center Console Opens When Locked
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves modifying and biasing the latch forward to engage more of the lock mechanism with the console.

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Some customers may experience a condition where their center console can be forced open with light pressure when it is in the locked position. This may
be due to minimal engagement of the latch with the console.
DIAGNOSIS:
1. Lock the center console. Check to make sure the console is locked.
2. Apply light hand pressure (2.25 to 4.5 Kg [5 to 10 Lbs]) to the latch while pulling up and rearward on the console cover.
3. Can the locked latch mechanism be overcome and console lid opened?
a. YES >> Perform the Repair Procedure
b. NO >> Further diagnosis is required, this bulletin does not apply.
SPECIAL TOOLS/EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Open the console and remove the latch mechanism.
