Camshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair
Removal

REMOVAL - 3.8L

The CMP (Camshaft Position Sensor) (3) is bolted to front of engine. The CMP uses a pigtail wiring harness (2). This connects the sensor to the engine
harness.

1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
2. Disconnect electrical connectors (1).
3. Remove sensor mounting bolt (4).
4. An O-ring is used to seal the sensor to engine. Remove sensor (3) from engine by pulling while rotating.
