Power Steering Pump: Service and Repair
Power Steering Pump - Installation

3.8L

1. Install pulley (1) on pump (if removed). See: Power Steering Pump Pulley - Installation.
2. Install pump on the engine.
3. Install 3 pump mounting bolts (2) and tighten to 26 Nm (19 ft. lbs.).

4. Install the pressure line on the pump and tighten to 31 Nm (23 ft. lbs.).
5. Install supply hose on pump.
6. Install drive belt, See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets and Accessories/Drive Belt/Service and Repair.
7. Fill and bleed the power steering system See: Power Steering Bleeding/Service and Repair.
8. Check for leaks.
9. Install the air box assembly See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Tune-up and Engine Performance Checks/Air Cleaner Housing/Service and

Repair.
