Steering Shimmy
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves the replacement of the steering damper and steering damper bracket.
MODELS:
**2007 - 2009**
JK
Wrangler
NOTE:
This Bulletin applies to LHD vehicles built before August 1, 2009 (MDH 0801 XX).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
The customer may experience steering wheel/linkage vibration from rough surfaces.
DIAGNOSIS:
If the condition is present perform the Repair Procedure.
NOTE:
Prior to performing the repair procedure verify that all other suspension components and tires are within specification.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Remove the steering damper. Refer to the detailed removal and installation procedures available in DealerConnect > TechCONNECT under: Service
info > Steering > Linkage > Damper, Steering> Removal > Steering Damper.
2. Remove the steering damper bracket. Refer to the detailed removal and installation procedures available in DealerConnect > TechCONNECT under:
Service info > Steering > Linkage > Damper, Steering > Removal > Steering Damper Bracket.
