DATE: May 15, 1998
SUBJECT:
Front Seat Squeak
MODELS:
1997 - 1998 (TJ) Wrangler
1997 - 1998 (XJ) Cherokee
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
A squeaking noise may be present in either front seat. This noise could be caused by a lack of lubricant in the seat track or by movement between the seat
frame and the foam cushion. An isolator material has been developed to separate the foam from the seat frame.
DIAGNOSIS:
Try to duplicate the problem while sitting in the seat. Rocking back and forth or moving side to side will generally enable you to duplicate the symptom.
If the noise is coming from the seat, perform the Repair Procedure.
