Using a small flat blade screwdriver, pry open the cover from the left (driver) side front shoulder belt turning loop (Figure 1).

2.

Remove the bolt that attaches the shoulder belt turning loop to the adjustable anchor (height adjuster) (Figure 1).

NOTE:

Be sure to save the spacer for later reuse.

For Wrangler (TJ) vehicles: Remove the adjustable anchor cover (Figure 1).

4.

For Cherokee (XJ) vehicles: Remove the upper B-pillar trim panel as follows:

A.

Remove the passenger assist handle(s).

B.

Remove the front A-pillar trim panel screws.

C.

Separate the A-pillar trim panel from the rear headliner trim.

D.

Pull back the lower B-pillar trim panel and remove the two (2) upper B-pillar trim panel fasteners.

E.

Remove the upper B-pillar trim panel to access the adjustable anchor.

5.

Remove the two (2) fasteners that secure the adjustable anchor to the B-pillar (XJ) or sport bar (TJ) (Figure 1). Discard the adjustable anchor.

6.

Install one of the provided adjustable anchors onto the B-pillar (XJ) or sport bar (TJ). Tighten the fasteners to 35 ft-lbs (47 N.m).

7.

For Wrangler (TJ) vehicles: Install the adjustable anchor cover (Figure 1).

8.

For Cherokee (XJ) vehicles: Install the upper B-pillar trim panel as follows:

A.

Install the upper B-pillar trim panel and fasteners, and then reinstall the lower B-pillar trim panel.

B.

Install the A-pillar trim panel and tighten the screws securely.

C.

Install the passenger assist handle(s).

9.

Attach the shoulder belt turning loop to the adjustable anchor. Ensure that the spacer is installed on the bolt between the turning loop and the
adjustable anchor. Tighten the bolt to 35 ft-lbs (47 N.m).

10.

Close the turning loop cover.

11.

Repeat Steps 1-10 for the right (passenger) side front shoulder belt adjustable anchor.

Completion Reporting and Reimbursement

Claims for vehicles which have been serviced must be submitted on the DIAL System.

Claims submitted will be used by Chrysler to record recall service completions and provide dealer payments.
