Backup Lamp Switch: Testing and Inspection

Back-up light switch - Manual transaxle

Inspection

1. Remove the back-up light switch connector.
2. Shift to the reverse position.
3. Confirm continuity between C148-1 (YEL) and C148-3 (RED/YEL) wire of the transaxle connector.

Back-up light switch - Automatic transaxle

Inspection

1. Disconnect the transaxle range switch connector.
2. Check for continuity between terminals, as indicated.
3. If continuity is not as specified, replace the switch and perform adjustment of the transaxle range switch.
4. If correct, check or adjust the selector lever.
