Tachometer: Testing and Inspection
The tachometer is controlled by a solid state circuit. With the engine running, ignition coil pules proportional to engine speed are read into the
solid state circuits, which output the engine speed in RPM's through the tachometer.
1. Remove instrument cluster.

2. Connect test tachometer between pins 5 BLK and pin 16 YEL/WHT, Fig. 4.

3. Start engine, ensure test tachometer indicates proper engine speed, Fig. 5.
