2005 SORENTO LX WHEEL GUARD REPLACEMENT
This bulletin provides information relating to the wheel guard replacement to prevent dirt, ice and snow from accumulating on the evaporative system air
filter.
Some 2005MY Sorento LX models with production dates between 6/1/04 - 1/3/05, may experience a problem with the MIL turning on and the ECM
storing DTC P2422 (Canister Close Valve Clogging) due to a clogged evaporative air filter. Kia has issued new parts to eliminate this problem on LX
models; EX models already have a full size wheel guard installed.
Both rear wheel partial guards must be replaced with full size wheel guards and a new evaporative air filter must be installed on the LX models.
