SAFETY CAMPAIGN: 2004-2005 SPECTRA PASSENGER SEAT OCS REFLASH
This bulletin provides information relating to possible improper OCS classification of a child restraint seat. On some 2004 and 2005 Spectra models
produced between 12/11/03 and 4/18/05, the tell tale lamp on the center facia panel may turn off (PASSENGER AIR BAG ENABLED) when the
passenger seat is occupied by a child restraint seat.
In certain frontal collisions, it is possible that the passenger air bag may deploy even if the front seat is occupied by a child in a child restraint seat. The
driver will be aware if the front passenger air bag is enabled by the passenger side telltale light, which will NOT illuminate with the "PASSENGER AIR
BAG OFF" indication.
This bulletin provides information on how to update the Spectra OCS electronic control module located in the front passenger seat cushion.
