Brake Proportioning/Combination Valve: Description and Operation

Because disc brakes need higher line pressures to produce the same amount of braking force as a drum brake, a proportioning valve has been placed in
the brake lines. Its function is to keep the rear brake line pressure lower than the front brake lines, producing balanced braking.
