Air Filter Element: Service and Repair

Removal 

1. Loosen the clamps on the inlet and outlet hoses on each side of the air cleaner housing.
2. Remove the mounting bolts on the mass air flow sensor housing.
3. Remove the air intake hoses from the air cleaner housing.
4. Remove the six bolts holding the top of the air cleaner housing in place.
5. Remove the top of the air cleaner case.
6. Remove the air cleaner element.
7. Clean the air cleaner housing to remove dirt or dust.

Installation 

1. Position the new air cleaner element in place.
2. Replace the top of the air cleaner housing.
3. Install the six bolts to the top of the housing.
4. Install the air intake hoses and tighten the clamps.
5. Install the bolt for the air mass meter.
