Brake Warning Indicator: Description and Operation

With the ignition in ON or "START," battery voltage is applied to the brake warning indicator though the "METER" fuse.

Battery voltage is supplied to the instrument panel indicator lights and gauges from the "METER" fuse when the ignition is in ON or "START."

When the parking brake switch, brake fluid level switch, or brake pressure differential switch closes, ground is applied to the brake warning indicator
light in the instrument cluster, causing it to illuminate.
