Charge Lamp/Indicator: Description and Operation
Battery voltage is supplied to the instrument panel indicator lights and gauges from the "METER" fuse when the ignition is in ON or "START."
When the ignition is in ON, but the engine is not running and the generator is not charging, ground is applied to the charge indicator light in the
instrument cluster, causing it to illuminate. When the engine starts and the generator charges, a high voltage will be present on both sides of the indicator
light and it will go out.
