Brake Warning Indicator: Description and Operation
Brake Warning Indicator
With the ignition in "ON" or "START," battery voltage is applied to the brake warning indicator though the "METER" fuse.
Brake Fluid Level Switch
The brake fluid level sensor closes when brake fluid level is low. With the ignition switch in "ON" or "START," and the brake fluid level sensor
closed, the brake warning light illuminates to warn the driver of low brake fluid level in the brake master cylinder.
Parking Brake Switch
The parking brake switch closes when the parking brake is applied. With the ignition switch in "ON" or "START," and the parking brake switch
closed, the brake warning light illuminates to remind the driver that the parking brake is applied.
Brake Pressure Differential Switch
This switch monitors the front and rear brake systems for loss of pressure. When the ignition switch is in "ON" or "START," and a loss of pressure
occurs in either system, the switch contacts close, causing the Brake Warning Indicator to illuminate.
