EGR Valve: Testing and Inspection
Test
INSPECTION
1. Start the engine and let it run at idle.
2. Connect a vacuum pump to the EGR control valve vacuum hose, as shown, and apply a vacuum.
3. Verify that the engine runs roughly and stalls within the specified range.
Specification: 2.59 in. hg (8.67 kPa [65 mmHg])
4. If not as specified, replace the EGR control valve.
5. Reconnect the vacuum hose.
