INSPECTION OF TERMINAL VOLTAGE
1. Warm up the engine to normal operating temperature.
2. Use a DC voltmeter to back probe the sensor.
3. Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor connector
4. Connect a voltmeter between terminal A (BLK wire) and ground.
5. Increase and decrease the engine speed quickly several times.
6. Verify that the meter reading varies between 0.5 - 1.0V.
7. When the engine speed is increased, verify that the meter reading varies between 0.5V - 0.0V.
8. If not as specified, inspect:
^
On-board diagnostic system
^
System inspection
^
Intake manifold vacuum
^
Fuel line pressure
9. If all the systems are normal, replace the heated oxygen sensor.
