Sliding Door: Service and Repair

BACK DOOR (2 DOOR)

Removal

CAUTION:  When a removing or installing any electrical units, wiring or electrical connectors, disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent
possible short circuits which could lead to personal injury and/or property damage.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the rear window of convertible soft top.
3. Remove two nuts and one bolt from spare tire and remove spare tire carefully.

4. Remove back door trim with a trim removal tool.
5. Peel off the moisture barrier plastic cover carefully by pulling it away gradually from the door frame.
6. Disconnect one electrical connector of high-mounted brake light assembly inner door frame.

7. Remove two screws that attach high-mounted brake light assembly.
